This collection of paintings and papier-mâché objects portrays items with sentimental value—symbols or keepsakes that carry layers of meaning. They are objects of exaggerated imagination, instantly recognisable yet of questionable aesthetic worth: objects that can bore, provoke, amuse, or inspire. Often given as straightforward, sentimental gifts, they are sometimes transformed—irrationally—into magical talismans believed to bring good luck. They may adorn our interiors, gardens, and bodies, or lie tucked away and forgotten. The exhibited works not only reflect these objects, but also nurture a positive emotional connection to the past, offering a way to share personal memories and feelings that may, in some measure, resonate universally.
