Eva Jaroňová and Jan Sláma work with different themes and visual languages, yet similar motifs naturally meet in their artistic practice – dialogues and interweaving between the worlds of humans, animals, plants, and the cosmos. The boundaries of individual beings blur, and bodies slowly disintegrate only to rejoin the surrounding world. Transformation, decay, and rebirth become central principles, often presented with playfulness, exaggeration, and dark humor.
Both artists attempt to grasp the intuition that is characteristic of their work through logical thinking, lightly combining diverse artistic media and thematic approaches. A subtle undertone of their first joint exhibition is the shared horoscope sign Virgo – Eva and Jan were born on the same day and in the same year – which also poetically resonates in the exhibition’s title. In both of them, the sense of detail and structure associated with this astrological profile appears rather discreetly, in small gestures and hidden order that, at the same time, willingly allows itself to be disrupted by spontaneity and inventiveness. The exhibition thus grows out of a unique constellation of shared sensitivity, humor, and unexpected creative intertwinings.
